Dario Osorio: Rising Star Attracts Premier League and Serie A Interest
Dario Osorio is running out of places to hide.
One of the most closely watched young attackers in Europe this summer, the Chilean winger has become the latest obsession for Premier League and Serie A scouts, with Liverpool among a growing pack tracking his situation at FC Midtjylland.
The 22-year-old right-sided forward has drawn concrete enquiries as the transfer window heads into its final stretch. This is no vague interest. Clubs are asking questions, testing the waters, pushing to find out what it will take.
On Merseyside alone, the picture is crowded. Liverpool are monitoring him as part of a wider search for at least one, and possibly two, new wingers after exploring moves for Bradley Barcola and Ibrahim Mbaye. Across Stanley Park, Everton are also in the market for another wide player before the deadline. Jack Grealish remains on their radar, Como’s Assane Diao is on the shortlist, and Osorio has been discussed by David Moyes’ side as a serious option.
Leeds United are in the frame as well, keeping tabs as they weigh up attacking reinforcements. Then there is the Italian angle: AC Milan remain firmly in the conversation, with sources in both Denmark and Italy convinced the Rossoneri are still very much alive in the race.
Arsenal’s interest stretches back even further. The London club first registered their admiration last summer and, according to Midtjylland’s technical director, they are one of several Premier League sides who continue to assess Osorio’s progress closely.
He has given them plenty to study. Since arriving in Denmark from Universidad de Chile in 2023, Osorio has developed at speed in the Superliga, racking up 23 goals and 18 assists in 117 games. His club form has gone hand in hand with regular international recognition; he already has 25 caps for Chile, a significant tally for a player still shaping his game.
What stands out is how he plays. Quick off the mark, direct in his running, and comfortable operating on either flank despite being left-footed, Osorio has inevitably drawn comparisons with Alexis Sanchez. Those flashes of resemblance have only strengthened Midtjylland’s belief that they can command a major fee.
Inside the Danish club, the valuation is clear. They want around €20million (£17.1m / $23.4m) and are prepared to listen if someone meets that number. Lower bids have already been turned away. The expectation is simple: let the English and Italian interest collide, and let the market do the rest.
Behind the scenes, there is a sense of inevitability. Coaching staff and directors at Midtjylland have indicated they expect Osorio, along with another key forward, to move on before the window closes. A sale has been described as almost certain, the only question being where he goes and how high the final fee climbs.
For now, no formal offer has been accepted. But the volume and variety of interest suggest that stasis will not last long. As the days tick down, negotiations are likely to sharpen, positions to harden, and one of Europe’s more intriguing attacking prospects to be pushed towards a decision.
Premier League or Serie A? That remains open. What appears settled is the belief across scouting departments that Osorio is ready for a higher level, ready to step into a more demanding environment and see whether his numbers and fearless style translate.
With Midtjylland willing to deal at the right price and several clubs circling, the race for his signature is moving into its decisive phase. The only uncertainty now is whose shirt he pulls on when the window finally slams shut.
