Gianluigi Donnarumma and Pregnant Partner Threatened During Home Invasion
In July 2023, Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma and his then-pregnant partner, Alessia Elefante, faced a harrowing home invasion in their luxury apartment on Avenue Montaigne, Paris.

Recent court hearings have revealed grim details about the incident. The couple, now married with a child, were asleep when armed robbers broke into their residence. The intruders bound them, threatened them with a knife, and demanded valuables.
Donnarumma was awoken by a man whispering “shh” before being struck with a knuckle duster and confronted with a knife. The attacker insisted, "The watches, the watches." Donnarumma showed the assailant an Audemars Piguet watch on his dressing table, a brand known for its high value.
Elefante recounted being awakened by thieves shouting demands for money and watches. She surrendered a Cartier watch, jewellery, and around €2,000 in cash. When asked for the safe code, she said she did not know it and that the safe was empty. Despite her claims, the robbers became violent, pulling her hair and hitting her thighs. Even after learning she was pregnant, they continued to threaten her.
Eventually, Donnarumma gave the safe code, confirming the safe’s emptiness. The robbers fled with luxury handbags, cash, watches, and keys to a Mercedes and Lamborghini.
How the Intruders Entered and Suspects Involved
Authorities believe four men climbed onto the building’s roof using a ladder, lowered themselves onto the balcony, and entered through a window. Two suspects already behind bars, Ilyas Kherbouch (21) and Khyan Mamouni, are accused of organizing the robbery from prison.
Kherbouch, who has over 11 convictions and escaped custody briefly in March, disrupted the trial by insulting and threatening police officers.
Aftermath and Reactions
The couple remains deeply shaken by the attack, according to their lawyers. Donnarumma, who played for Paris Saint-Germain at the time, is not expected to give testimony during the two-day hearing.
