According to reports from ESPN, the way Arteta handled Martinelli’s situation has not gone down well among teammates. Many players sympathize with the forward, especially after he was omitted from the Community Shield victory over Manchester City and missed out on receiving a winners medal. This particular exclusion left Martinelli disappointed, while senior squad members also expressed their displeasure.

New Signings Indicate Martinelli’s Role Is Diminishing

The signs were clear earlier this summer when Arsenal signed attacker Christos Tzolis for around £34 million. Moreover, an ambitious but unsuccessful attempt to sign Real Madrid star Vinicius Junior hinted at Arteta’s intention to reshape the left wing.

The transfer fee is still under discussion. Arsenal reportedly seek about £60 million for the forward, but ESPN suggests the final deal may settle closer to £40 million.
