JJ Gabriel's Future: Bayern Munich and Real Madrid in Race for Manchester United Star

Bayern Munich have moved to the front of the queue for Manchester United prodigy JJ Gabriel, with the teenager understood to have told the club he wants out and is not expected to pull on their shirt again.

At just 15, Gabriel has become the centre of a tug-of-war between two European giants. Reports in The Sun and the Manchester Evening News say talks have already been smoothed by so‑called super-agent Ali Barat, who has been central to discussions between Gabriel’s camp, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid as the youngster looks for a fresh start away from Old Trafford.

The rules are clear: players under 16 cannot be formally represented by an agent. Even so, Barat and his agency, Epic Sports, are already positioned as favourites to take charge of Gabriel’s future once he reaches that threshold, having been instrumental in bringing Bayern and Real to the table.

The interest from Bavaria is not subtle. Bayern sporting director Christoph Freund was asked about Gabriel at a press conference last week and could barely hide his admiration, even as he stuck to the party line.

“I don't talk about players who are under contract with other clubs. We know the player because he's very talented. He's an exceptional talent. I can't say anything more about that,” Freund said.
