Manchester United's Leny Yoro Receives First Senior France Call-Up Following Konaté's Withdrawal

Leny Yoro, the 20-year-old centre-back from Manchester United, has been unexpectedly summoned to the senior France national team by coach Zinédine Zidane. The announcement came late, as reported by the French Football Federation.

This marks Yoro’s first call-up to the senior squad. He steps in for Ibrahima Konaté, the Real Madrid defender who withdrew due to a minor right knee sprain.

Previously playing for Lille OSC, Yoro was already training at France’s Clairefontaine facility since he was included in the U21 team under manager Gérald Baticle. Now, he will have the opportunity to showcase his skills in Zidane’s initial four Nations League matches against Turkey, Belgium, and Italy.

Yoro is the seventh player to receive their debut senior call-up from Zidane, joining the ranks of Guillaume Restes, Jean Butez, Andy Diouf, Jérémy Jacquet, Lucas Da Cunha, and Estéban Lepaul.
