Lionel Messi Adds $10.4 Million Sunreef Yacht to His Expanding Business Ventures

Lionel Messi, the Inter Miami forward, has reportedly purchased a €10 million (about $10.4 million) luxury yacht from Sunreef Yachts. This new vessel is a 28-metre custom power catamaran that will join his MIM Ocean charter fleet in Spain, blending personal use with commercial ambitions.

The yacht, currently being built in the United Arab Emirates, offers high-end comfort and privacy. It features twin 1,000-horsepower engines, a master suite spanning the full width of the boat, and four guest cabins. There’s also a dedicated garage for customized Jet Skis and an exclusive Ocean Lounge that allows direct water access for swimming.

“It’s a real pleasure to join the Sunreef family. My family and I have always loved spending time at sea... Sunreef Yachts have the style and features I really like,” said Messi.

Francis Lapp, founder and CEO of Sunreef Yachts, expressed pride in welcoming Messi and his family to the company.

Combining Leisure with Business

This yacht isn’t just for private enjoyment; it’s set to become part of Messi’s charter fleet based in the Balearic Islands, Spain. This addition opens another avenue for Messi to turn his passion for luxury and leisure into a profitable business.

Messi's Growing Football and Business Interests in Spain

Alongside this purchase, Messi continues to build his investments off the pitch. He recently became the owner of CD Eldense, a Spanish club founded in 1921 and located in Elda, Alicante. The takeover marks a new chapter for the club, aiming to focus on its sporting and social development while maintaining its local roots.

This follows Messi’s earlier acquisition of fifth-tier side UE Cornellà in April, signaling a move towards clubs competing at higher levels within Spanish football.

His business portfolio also includes a possible stake in Inter Miami after his playing contract ends, showing his intention to stay involved in football beyond his active career.

From Football to Luxury Yachts

Messi is clearly crafting a diverse business empire. The Sunreef yacht stands out as a symbol of this strategy: a luxurious family vessel designed not only for leisure but also to generate income through charters.
