A midfielder on the rise
The conviction behind Forest’s position is rooted in Anderson’s trajectory. Since arriving from Newcastle, he has grown into one of the first names on Pereira’s teamsheet, a midfielder who can carry the ball from deep, punch through lines, and press aggressively when out of possession.
Last season underlined his importance. In the 2025-26 Premier League campaign, Anderson featured in all 38 matches, starting 37 of them. That kind of durability and trust from the manager is rare in a player his age.
His performances have not gone unnoticed beyond club level either. Anderson’s rise has been rewarded with a place in Thomas Tuchel’s England squad for the 2026 World Cup, another marker of how quickly his reputation has accelerated.
