Manchester City Signs Ayyoub Bouaddi for €100m

Manchester City have reached an agreement in principle to sign Lille’s 18-year-old midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi in a deal worth 100m euros (£86m).

The Morocco international is now on course to complete his long-awaited move to England, with only the final formalities standing between him and Enzo Maresca’s squad.

BBC Sport revealed earlier in the week that City and Lille were in advanced negotiations, and those talks have now produced a full agreement for the teenager to join the Premier League champions.

City’s midfield rebuild has accelerated this summer. With Rodri and Tijani Reijnders both sold, the club moved quickly to reinforce the centre of the pitch, and Bouaddi has been pushed to the front of that strategy as a major long-term investment.

The recruitment drive is not over. City still hold an interest in Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez, though it is unclear whether they can find common ground on a fee for the World Cup winner.

For now, the spotlight falls on Bouaddi – an 18-year-old commanding a nine-figure package and stepping into a midfield undergoing a dramatic reset.
