Didier Deschamps Confirms Kylian Mbappe Ready for France’s World Cup Semi-Final Against Spain
Didier Deschamps has assured that Kylian Mbappe will be fit to take on Spain in the World Cup semi-final, quelling worries about an ankle injury. The French captain had a separate training session on Monday, sparking some speculation, but his coach explained this was part of managing his recovery ahead of the crucial match.
Deschamps Addresses Mbappe’s Training
Mbappe left the field in the 77th minute during France's 2-0 victory over Morocco after mentioning a minor ankle issue. Reports surfaced that he was still feeling discomfort and training apart from the main group. Deschamps, however, dismissed these as signs of any setback.
"He feels good," Deschamps told The Athletic. "He has the right, like others, to do 15 minutes instead of 20 minutes on a drill."
Key Players Return Strengthen France
Mbappe enters the semi-final leading the Golden Boot race with eight goals, narrowly ahead of Lionel Messi on assists. His presence is a huge advantage for France as they prepare to challenge a possession-focused Spain.
Aurélien Tchouameni is also expected back after missing recent matches. Deschamps commented on his condition:
"Even though he was on the bench for the last game, the risk was still high. He’s better today. I’m not going to say he has been 100 percent cured. He’s now available."
Focus Shifts to Spain Clash
With both Mbappe and Tchouameni likely to be available, France looks ready for one of their toughest games yet in the tournament. Their fitness boosts come just in time to face a strong Spanish side that has impressed with its control and technique throughout the World Cup.
