Netflix Wins Exclusive Rights to Broadcast the 2030 FIFA World Cup in Spain and Andorra
In a surprising move shaking up football broadcasting, Netflix has secured exclusive rights to stream the entire 2030 FIFA World Cup in Spain and Andorra. This marks the first time a major streaming service will air every match of a senior national team World Cup live in Spain.
The deal covers all 104 matches of the tournament. Subscribers will have access to watch the competition from the group stage all the way through to the final on their personal devices.
Free-to-Air Matches Included
Due to public interest laws, certain games will also be available free-to-air. These include all matches involving Spain, plus the semifinals and the final of the tournament.
Streaming Takes Over Traditional Broadcasting
This agreement highlights Netflix's growing commitment to live sports and disrupts the usual broadcasters who traditionally compete for these rights. The shift signals a new era where streaming platforms are becoming key players in major sporting events.
A Unique Global Event
The 2030 World Cup will be hosted by Spain, Portugal, and Morocco, with special commemorative matches held in South America. The event is expected to be extraordinary both on the field and across global audiences.
