The debt amounted to R$12 million (roughly £1.7m or $2.3m). By clearing it, NR Sports provided an immediate cash boost to Santos, enabling them to register players again. In exchange, both parties agreed to jointly negotiate and manage unsold kit sponsorship space at the club.

The club announced the news with a statement on Thursday: "Santos FC have settled the Transfer Ban and are once again clear to operate in the transfer market. The operation was made possible thanks to the support of NR Sports, through which the Club received an immediate financial injection. In return, Santos FC and the company will jointly negotiate kit sponsorship inventory that has not yet been commercialised."
New Signings and Survival Fight
With their squad stretched thin and debts still hovering near £13 million, Santos urgently needed this relief. The lifting of the ban clears the way for signing Arthur Melo, formerly of Juventus, who is expected to strengthen the team as they battle relegation. According to Diario Sport, Arthur is the primary target to provide an immediate impact.
