Schalke Boosted by Player Returns Ahead of Bundesliga Season

FC Schalke 04 have been given a welcome lift on the injury front just days before the new Bundesliga campaign kicks off.

New signing Robin Gosens, brought in this summer to add experience and drive on the flank, took part in large portions of full team training on Wednesday, 12 August. The left-sided player had suffered a thigh injury in a test match against Hessen Kassel at the start of the month, briefly stalling his integration into the squad. Now he is edging back into the rhythm the club hoped he would bring from day one.

The mood brightened further with the sight of captain Kenan Karaman back on the pitch. The forward has returned to training after sustaining a pelvic contusion in the friendly against Atalanta on 8 August, an awkward knock that briefly raised concerns over his availability for the opening weeks.

Not everyone is back yet. Junior Dina Ebimbe continues to work individually and still needs a little more time before he can rejoin full squad sessions. His return will be the next piece of the puzzle as Schalke try to hit the ground running in the new season.
