Strasbourg Signs Chelsea's Omari Kellyman: A Key Transfer
Strasbourg have completed the permanent signing of Chelsea attacker Omari Kellyman, deepening the growing transfer pipeline between the two BlueCo-owned clubs.
The 20-year-old leaves Stamford Bridge just a year after arriving from Aston Villa for £19m in 2024. His spell at Chelsea never really started: a run of hamstring injuries stalled his progress and he failed to make a first-team appearance.
Chelsea have protected their investment. The deal includes a buyback clause, underlining the belief in Kellyman’s long-term potential even as he heads to Ligue 1 for regular football.
This is not just another transfer between the clubs; it is the 20th move since both came under the same American ownership group, BlueCo. And it is unlikely to be the last this week.
Deivid Washington is set to follow. The young Chelsea striker is expected to join Strasbourg in a similar arrangement, again keeping Chelsea’s option to revisit the move if his development explodes in France.
One more deal is on the table. Either midfielder Dario Essugo or winger Mykhailo Mudryk could also make the switch to Strasbourg on loan, as the French side look to bulk up their squad with talent drawn directly from Chelsea’s stacked ranks.
For Kellyman, it is a reset. For Strasbourg, it is another step in a project increasingly shaped in Chelsea’s image.
