Top 10 Assist Leaders in Europe’s Big Five Leagues for 2026-27: Gordon, Gakpo and More

Last season, Bruno Fernandes topped the charts for assists in Europe. This year, though, a new set of players are making their mark early in the campaign. Here’s a look at the top assist providers so far across the continent’s five major leagues: the Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga, and Ligue 1.

We only consider league matches, and when players share the same number of assists, the one with fewer minutes played ranks higher.

10. Evanilson – 3 assistsEvanilson has tripled his assists from last Premier League season but is still waiting to score his first goal this term. He has provided assists against Manchester City, Everton, and Brentford, despite Bournemouth not yet claiming a win.

9. Cody Gakpo – 3 assistsAll of Gakpo's three assists for Liverpool have been for Alexander Isak, including two in a single match against Ipswich. After some summer doubts, he’s responded well on the pitch.

8. Dani Olmo – 3 assistsMostly coming off the bench in La Liga this season, Olmo has still managed three assists. Barcelona’s attack looks formidable, with Raphinha leading in goals and also tallying three assists but missing out here due to playing time.

7. Matthias Ginter – 3 assistsA defender featuring on this list might surprise you. Ginter has made three assists in as many Bundesliga games. He delivered two assists in Freiburg’s recent 5-0 win over Borussia Mönchengladbach.

6. Mariano Diaz – 3 assistsOnce prolific for Real Madrid's reserves and Lyon, Diaz is having a strong start with Alavés—three goals and three assists in six appearances, two starts included. It’s his best output since 2017-18.

5. Andy Diouf – 3 assistsAfter limited starts last season, Diouf has begun this Serie A season well, with three assists from three starts. His switch to wing-back seems to be helping him create chances more frequently.

1. Anthony Gordon – 4 assistsGordon has quickly proven why Barcelona signed him from Newcastle. Coming on as a substitute in his debut, he assisted twice within six minutes, then continued to assist against Rayo Vallecano and Valencia. His previous best was 10 assists in a Premier League season, and he seems on track to surpass that.
