Tottenham Negotiates Double Deal for Savinho and Marmoush

Tottenham Hotspur are in negotiations with Manchester City over a double move for forwards Savinho and Omar Marmoush as Roberto de Zerbi pushes hard for attacking firepower before the new season.

Talks are described as progressing, but there is no agreement yet on either player, and City’s asking price remains a major obstacle. The champions are understood to be seeking a sizeable profit on both forwards.

Savinho, 22, has been on Spurs’ radar since 2025. The Brazilian winger arrived at City for £30m in 2024 but never truly forced his way into Pep Guardiola’s plans, managing only seven Premier League starts last season. After a stuttering campaign and limited minutes, he is now looking for a way out to relaunch his career.

On the opposite flank, Marmoush faces a similar crossroads. The 27-year-old Egyptian joined City from Eintracht Frankfurt in 2025 for £59m, but his first full season in Manchester failed to convince. He scored eight goals in 36 appearances in all competitions in 2025-26 and slipped down the pecking order under Guardiola.

City have not publicly set a price for either player, yet internally they expect to cash in strongly. With several departures already banked this summer – including Rodri, Tijjani Reijnders and James Trafford – the champions are reshaping their squad while keeping their balance sheet healthy.

For Tottenham, the urgency is obvious. De Zerbi has already overseen a £185m overhaul in midfield with the arrivals of Mateus Fernandes and Sandro Tonali, but the numbers from last season still loom over the club. Spurs finished 17th in the Premier League and scored only 48 goals – a return that has left the Italian head coach demanding more cutting edge in the final third.

Savinho and Marmoush are seen as key options to change that picture, offering pace, movement and depth across the front line. Yet the financial puzzle is complicated. Tottenham also retain interest in Liverpool forward Cody Gakpo, and there is real doubt over whether they can realistically afford a move for the Dutchman as well as a double deal with City.

Time, for now, is tight but not desperate. Tottenham begin their Premier League campaign away at Brentford on Saturday, while City open at home to Bournemouth on Sunday.

By the time those games kick off, the question will be whether De Zerbi walks into the new season with a transformed forward line – or still waiting for the goals he knows his team cannot do without.
