2026/27 UEFA Champions League: Teams, Schedule, Draws, Format, and Final Venue

The UEFA Champions League, previously known as the European Cup, enters its 72nd season in 2026/27. This marks the 35th season under its current name and the third using the league phase format.

The competition began on 7 July 2026 and will conclude with the final at Estadio Metropolitano in Madrid on Saturday, 5 June 2027. Note that all dates are tentative and may be adjusted.

2027 Champions League Final Details

The decisive match will take place at Estadio Metropolitano in Madrid. This stadium, home to Atlético de Madrid since 2017, will host its second Champions League final after 2019, when Liverpool beat Tottenham 2-0 to secure their sixth title.

Madrid will host its sixth final overall, ranking just behind London for the most finals held in a city.

What the Champions Receive

The winners will lift the UEFA Champions League trophy, standing 73.5cm tall and weighing 7.5kg. They also earn a spot in the league phase of the 2027/28 Champions League if they have not qualified through domestic leagues.

Additionally, the champions will face the 2026/27 UEFA Europa League winners in the UEFA Super Cup scheduled for August 2027.
